Tinshed

St Albans Community Youth Club Inc. — Est. 1953

Tinshed is one of Melbourne's west's most enduring community institutions — a youth club that has been serving the St Albans community since 1953. For over seven decades, Tinshed has provided a welcoming, inclusive space where young people can come together, build connections, and access sport, recreation, and community programs.

African Youth Collective is proud to partner with Tinshed, whose values of community, belonging, and youth empowerment align deeply with our own mission. Together, we are working to ensure that African young people in Melbourne's west have access to safe, culturally inclusive spaces where they can thrive.

Our Partnership

A partnership built on community

A home for programs

Tinshed provides AYC with access to community space in St Albans — a central hub for our sports, recreation, and youth programs in Melbourne's west.

Shared values

Both organisations believe in the power of community, sport, and belonging to transform young lives. Our partnership is grounded in a shared commitment to African youth in the west.

Decades of trust

With over 70 years of community service, Tinshed brings deep roots and credibility to our partnership — helping AYC connect with the broader St Albans community.

In the community

Rooted in St Albans

Tinshed has been a cornerstone of the St Albans community for over 70 years. African Youth Collective's programs in St Albans — including our Saturday Soccer and community events — are strengthened by this long-standing partnership and the welcoming environment Tinshed provides.

Together, we are building a stronger, more connected community for African young people and families in Melbourne's west.
