Why activities matter under B-MAD

Sport, food, and play are not extras — they are frontline wellbeing interventions. Under the B-MAD Framework, every activity program is designed to reduce social isolation, build community belonging, divert youth from risk, and strengthen intergenerational family bonds. All programs are free, culturally safe, and open to everyone.

About the B-MAD Framework

Youth diversion

Structured weekly activities keep young people engaged, connected to trusted adults, and away from risk — every day of the week.

Community belonging

Shared sport, food, and play build the social bonds that hold a community together — across generations, backgrounds, and abilities.

Cultural pride

African food, traditional games, and community sport celebrate and strengthen cultural identity for youth growing up in Melbourne's west.

Free and accessible

Every program is free. No registration required. No barriers. Just show up — the community is waiting.

Come along — everyone is welcome

All B-MAD activity programs are free and open to the whole community. No registration required — just show up.
