B-MAD Sunshine Community BBQ is more than just a weekly BBQ—it is a community movement built on love, unity, respect, and belonging. Founded by African Youth Collective Inc. (AYC), the Sunshine BBQ provides a safe and welcoming space where young people, families, and community members can come together, build meaningful relationships, and strengthen community connections.
Held every Wednesday and Thursday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sunshine Park, Sunshine VIC 3021, the program is designed to engage local young people in positive activities while promoting peace, wellbeing, and healthy lifestyles.
At B-MAD Sunshine Community BBQ, it is not just about sharing a meal—it is about creating opportunities for connection, mentorship, and personal growth. Through conversation, friendship, and community engagement, we support young people to build confidence, develop leadership skills, make positive life choices, and become active contributors within their communities.
As part of the B-MAD Framework—Beyond Mental Health, Alcohol and Drugs, the program also promotes mental health awareness, positive education around Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), social inclusion, and community wellbeing. We believe that when young people have a place where they feel safe, respected, and valued, they are more likely to thrive and build brighter futures.
Every Wednesday and Thursday, B-MAD Sunshine Community BBQ brings people together through good food, positive conversations, cultural connection, and community spirit.
Your donation can make a real difference in the lives of those we serve. With your help, we can continue to provide vital services and support to those in need. Every little bit helps, so please consider making a donation today.

Our vision is to create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where young people, families, and community members can come together through connection, engagement, and community spirit.
Through the B-MAD Sunshine Community BBQ, we believe regular community gatherings have the power to unite people from different backgrounds, strengthen relationships, and build healthier, safer, and more connected communities.
Our goal is to create a space where every young person feels connected, valued, supported, and empowered within their community. Through shared meals, meaningful conversations, mentorship, and positive community engagement, we strive to inspire hope, strengthen relationships, and provide pathways for young people to reach their full potential.
Held every Wednesday and Thursday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sunshine Park, Sunshine VIC 3021, the B-MAD Sunshine Community BBQ is committed to building stronger minds, stronger communities, and stronger futures—one conversation, one meal, and one connection at a time.

The B-MAD Sunshine Community BBQ is proudly community-driven. We are committed to creating a strong sense of family, connection, and belonging for everyone involved—young people, families, volunteers, supporters, and members of the wider Sunshine community.
