About AYC

At the African Youth Collective (AYC), we believe change happens when young people are at the centre of the solutions that affect them. Our approach is youth-led, culturally grounded, and community-driven.

We focus on:

• Cultural Safety – Creating spaces where African identity is respected, celebrated, and embraced.
   
• Youth Leadership – Ensuring young people are not just participants but active decision-makers and leaders.
   
• Holistic Wellbeing – Addressing mental health, alcohol and other drugs (AOD), and social challenges with care that recognises the whole person.
   
• Collective Action – Partnering with families, communities, and organisations to create stronger support systems.
   
• Strengths-Based Practice – Highlighting the resilience, creativity, and leadership potential of African youth.
