More Than a BBQ — A Community Movement

B-MAD COMMUNITY BBQ

B-MAD Community BBQ is more than just a weekly BBQ — it is a movement built on love, unity, respect, and community spirit. Founded by African Youth Collective Inc., the B-MAD BBQ was created to bring young people, families, and the wider community together while promoting peace, wellbeing, positive mental health, and strong community connection across Australia.

At the B-MAD Community BBQ, it is not only about food — it is about building relationships, creating belonging, supporting mental wellbeing, raising awareness around Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD), and empowering young people to grow into strong leaders within their communities.

Through connection, conversation, and community engagement, the B-MAD BBQ creates a safe and welcoming environment where everyone feels supported, valued, and included.

About Aycol

Our Vision

Our Vision

Our vision is to create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where young people and communities can come together through connection, engagement, and community spirit.

Through the B-MAD Community BBQ, we believe community activities have the power to unite people from different backgrounds, strengthen relationships, and build healthier communities.

The B-MAD Community BBQ aims to:

  • Promote unity and peace within African communities
  • Support youth mental health and wellbeing
  • Raise awareness around Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD)
  • Encourage positive lifestyles and community engagement
  • Create opportunities for leadership and personal growth
  • Strengthen community spirit and cultural pride
  • Build respect, discipline, and inclusion among young people

Our goal is to create a space where every young person feels connected, valued, supported, and empowered within their community.

Community First

The B-MAD Community BBQ is proudly community-driven. We work to create a sense of family, connection, and belonging for everyone involved — young people, families, volunteers, supporters, and the wider community.

Our programs encourage:

  • Respect for one another
  • Community connection and teamwork
  • Cultural diversity and inclusion
  • Positive youth engagement
  • Leadership, mentorship, and personal growth
  • Mental health awareness and wellbeing
  • Positive conversations around Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD)

We believe that when young people feel supported, connected, and valued, stronger and healthier communities are built for the future.

Through food, conversation, and safe community engagement, the B-MAD Community BBQ creates an environment where everyone feels welcome, respected, and empowered.

Powered by African Youth Collective

The B-MAD Community BBQ operates under African Youth Collective Inc. (AYC), a community organisation dedicated to supporting African-Australian youth through mental health awareness, Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) prevention, leadership development, sport, education, and community wellbeing programs.

Through the B-MAD Framework — Beyond Mental Health, Alcohol & Drugs — AYC works to create safe spaces and positive pathways for young people and families within the community.

Together, we are building stronger communities by promoting unity, hope, wellbeing, opportunity, and positive youth engagement across Australia.

Join the Movement

Whether you are a young person, volunteer, supporter, or community member, the B-MAD Community BBQ welcomes everyone who believes in unity, respect, connection, and positive change within the community.

Together, we rise through community, support, and love.

United through connection. Stronger through community.
