B-MAD Falafel Sunday is more than just a weekly community gathering — it is a movement built on love, unity, respect, and community spirit. Founded by African Youth Collective Inc., Falafel Sunday was created to bring young people, families, and the wider community together while promoting peace, wellbeing, positive mental health, and strong community connections across Australia.
At B-MAD Falafel Sunday, it is not only about sharing food — it is about building relationships, creating a sense of belonging, supporting mental wellbeing, raising awareness around Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), and empowering young people to grow into strong leaders within their communities.
Through connection, conversation, and community engagement, Falafel Sunday creates a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where everyone feels supported, valued, and respected. The event encourages cultural exchange, community participation, and positive social interaction, helping to strengthen community cohesion and foster lasting relationships among people from diverse backgrounds.
Your donation can make a real difference in the lives of those we serve. With your help, we can continue to provide vital services and support to those in need. Every little bit helps, so please consider making a donation today.

Our vision is to create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where young people, families, and communities can come together through connection, engagement, and community spirit.
Through B-MAD Falafel Sunday, we believe community gatherings have the power to unite people from different backgrounds, strengthen relationships, celebrate cultural diversity, and build healthier, more connected communities.
B-MAD Falafel Sunday aims to:
• Promote unity, peace, and social cohesion within the community
• Support youth mental health and wellbeing
• Raise awareness around Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD)
• Encourage healthy lifestyles and positive community engagement
• Create opportunities for leadership development and personal growth
• Strengthen community spirit, cultural pride, and a sense of belonging
• Build respect, discipline, inclusion, and positive social connections among young people
• Foster meaningful conversations and community support networks
Our goal is to create a space where every person feels connected, valued, supported, and empowered. Through shared meals, cultural exchange, and community engagement, we strive to strengthen relationships and create positive outcomes for individuals, families, and the wider community.

B-MAD Falafel Sunday is proudly community-driven. We work to create a strong sense of family, connection, and belonging for everyone involved — young people, families, volunteers, supporters, and members of the wider community.
Our programs and activities encourage:
• Respect for one another
• Community connection and teamwork
• Cultural diversity, inclusion, and social cohesion
• Positive youth engagement and participation
• Leadership development, mentorship, and personal growth
• Mental health awareness and wellbeing
• Positive conversations and education around Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD)
• Healthy lifestyles and community involvement
We believe that when young people feel supported, connected, and valued, stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities are built for the future.
Through shared meals, meaningful conversations, cultural exchange, and safe community engagement, B-MAD Falafel Sunday creates an environment where everyone feels welcome, respected, included, and empowered. Our aim is to bring people together, strengthen relationships, and foster a positive sense of belonging that benefits both individuals and the wider community.

The B-MAD Community BBQ operates under African Youth Collective Inc. (AYC), a community organisation dedicated to supporting African-Australian youth through mental health awareness, Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) prevention, leadership development, sport, education, and community wellbeing programs.
Through the B-MAD Framework — Beyond Mental Health, Alcohol & Drugs — AYC works to create safe spaces and positive pathways for young people and families within the community.
Together, we are building stronger communities by promoting unity, hope, wellbeing, opportunity, and positive youth engagement across Australia.

Whether you are a young person, volunteer, supporter, family member, or community participant, B-MAD Falafel Sunday welcomes everyone who believes in unity, respect, connection, and positive change within the community.
Together, we rise through community, support, and shared purpose. By bringing people together through food, conversation, and meaningful engagement, we create opportunities to build stronger relationships, celebrate diversity, and support the wellbeing of our community.
United through connection. Stronger through community.
