At AYC, we understand that mental health and substance use often go hand in hand, especially for those experiencing homelessness. Many individuals use alcohol or drugs to cope with trauma or mental illness, which can make it even harder to find stability. That’s why we focus on providing not just shelter, but also support that addresses both AOD use and mental health. Everyone deserves a chance to heal, and we’re here to help make that possible.
We run a basketball program at Victoria University for both boys and girls, giving young people a positive outlet and a sense of community. Through teamwork and physical activity, participants build confidence, discipline, and social skills. It’s more than just a game—it’s a chance to grow, connect, and stay on a healthy path.
Our dedicated staff bring compassion, experience, and commitment to everything they do. Each team member plays a vital role in helping our clients feel supported and respected as they work toward stability and independence. Their hard work is at the heart of our mission.
